“Be Strong and Courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged for I the LORD your GOD am with you wherever you go” Joshua 1.9. Get ready now, you and all the people of Israel
and cross the River Jordan into the land that I am giving them...”

Yes, God was preparing his servant Joshua for the big task ahead of him to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land- Canaan after the death of Moses.
Joshua demonstrated his faith in God as he took up the challenge. Remember, of the 12 spies, only Joshua and Caleb showed complete con dence that God will help them conquer the Land (Numbers 13.33). The Israelites re-armed their faith and commitment to God by obediently setting out, then miraculously crossed River Jordan.

Mengonians and all people of God, 2013 is gone with all its cares, behold 2014 is here. We need to cross over from old life to the new one, face the challenges, make informed choices, make informed choices, move, act, study, work hard with a focus.
Let us trust God alone, put o our sel sh desires, earnestly repent of our sins, put o laziness, bad friends, shun all the vices of corruption, witchcraft, unfaithfulness, fornication, envy, jealousy, homosexuality, bestiality, political unrest, injustices, dishonesty and the like. God told Joshua to be strong and courageous, He promised to be with him wherever he will go. The same God is speaking to us today amidist the turmoils of this world. These are evil days Ephesians 5.15-16. God gave success to the Israelites when they obeyed His Master Plan, not when they followed their own desires of Jeremiah 29.11 “I alone know the pans I have for you...” The school has a Master plan for us.

Fear may be there, but confront it with Faith. Courage is a quality, it helps us conquer fear and all the challenges in Life. Ininfluential personal contacts and a relentless desire to get ahead. But the strategy for gaining prosperity that God taught Joshua goes against such criteria. God told Joshua that, to succeed;
1. Joshua must be strong and courageous.
2. He must obey God’s law.
3. Constantly read and study the Book of the Law that is God’s Word.

We, too must follow God’s Words to Joshua. We may not succeed by the world’s standards, but we will be a success in God’s eyes and God’s opinion lasts forever! “Not money, Not
military power, Not Muscle...God helped the Israelites to drive away the Canaanites who were wicked! We have to rest in God’s promises.
