Greetings in the name of our Lord..
On behalf of the Board of Governors of Mengo Senior School. I greet you all in Jesus’ name. I thank God who has brought us this far to yet another year. 2013 was indeed a fruitful year for Mengo Senior School family, with many blessings, prosperity, achievements and celebrations. I thank the Headteacher, Mr. John Fred Kazibwe, the teaching staff, non-teaching staff, support staff and the student’s body for turning Mengo into the Giant we are today.

The Namirembe Diocesan theme this year is from Ephesians 5:15 – 16, “Be very careful, then, how you live – Not as unwise (foolish), but as wise people, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil”.Indeed the youth today are challenged by an evil world, filled with; Drug abuse, sports betting, alcoholism, gambling, homosexuality, prostitution, theft, corruption, abortion, rioting, and pornography. So we have to work as a team and sharpen our swords for the enemy ahead of us is stronger than we can imagine.

Our mission statement in Mengo S.S is “to provide quality education through practical skills, team work, self reliance and produce God fearing persons”. The only way we can have our mission realized is by playing our role in the different capacities. Thus my message to the parents this year 2014 is: inculcate discipline and morals into the children, provide a conducive environment for them to learn, create quality time to talk to them and with them. Today many parents are suffering from T.B (too busy), teach the children to love their culture, to fear God
and respect people and property.

To the teachers, do your cardinal role of teaching, be exemplary, be role models, and teach to produce all round persons who will fit in today’s challenging world . Be friendly to the children you teach, inspire them knowing there is no stupid child.

To the students, “Work smart and always struggle for the best, respect your parents and teachers, grab all the opportunities that come your way when you are still young because opportunity knocks once and always remember that your future lies in your hands.”

Amidst challenges, I am glad to inform you that we have been able to achieve in different spheres.
A new school bus, 6 rooms on the new building have been completed and are under use. The septic tank for the new building has been completed, the whole school has been painted and given a face lift, the school ambiance has been beautified.

We have attained excellence in Academics where sixteen of our ‘A’ Level candidates scored the maximum 20 points, doing us proud.

I am glad to say that the struggle continues in the spirit of Akwana Akira Ayomba.
