Word From the Head Teacher

Dear Readers, our Esteemed audience,

A blessed 2026! Praise be to God!

I welcome you warmly to this New Year and give all the glory and honour to God for the year that has been. Last year MengoSenior School celebrated 130 years of existence. As founded in 1895, we in a special way saw the hand of God in our celebration year. God blessed us with so much that when we sit to count, we cannot fail to notice that He is God. He has fought battles, He has shown Himself strong in the life of Mengo Senior School and has indeed shown true his Word in Ephesians 2:10…Built for Greater Works. In the annointing of Shake Off for Excellence, Hebrews 12:1-2 we continually put aside all that weighed us down and hindered our progress.

As we start 2026, what is it that God is saying to us? From John 15:5, Our theme this year is “Growing in Faith, Fruitful in Life”. Why this theme, from what God has done for us since inception, it is our desire that we will bear more fruit knowing fully well that this can only happen if we keep in Christ Jesus. Every Mengonian’s DNA knows that it is always the fear of God first and then the Respect of Persons and property. It is important to know that we can only accumulate wealth when we preserve what we have and work to add on to what God has entrusted unto us.

Yes as Mengonians we are grateful to God for what He has done but also desire that we get even better as we work to yield fruit that lasts. When we nurture faith, we harvest life. In the anointing of Isaiah 60:1, our slogan this year is Arise and Shine. Our charge therefore this year is not to sit back but make the most of every resource that God has given us. Is it time? Is it finances? Is it talents? What is it that you are going to use for fruition and innovation? How are you going to make the year better? As school we still have the Mega Dining Hall project to do but also in your personal spaces, I believe there are things to add on and to accomplish. As you set your resolutions for the year 2026, remember that we are called to grow in faith but also work to be fruitful. It may not be just about very big dreams but about daily choices, trust and impact. Connect with what matters most and find purpose in life. Know what gives you energy in life. It is not just about perfection but also progress. Stay true to the Core values of Mengo Senior School.

I wish you a splendid year full of God’s blessings!
